The City of Litchfield Park and Kiwanis Club of Litchfield Park are teaming up to host our annual Trout Fishing Derby on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Tierra Verde Lake. The lake will be stocked with 750 pounds of rainbow trout for the derby. The derby is traditionally a fun family event. Age group trophies are awarded in various categories, including largest trout caught, smallest trout caught and most trout caught. There will also be opportunities to win raffle prizes.
The event is "rain or shine" and will run from 7:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. A fee of $15.00 per space will be charged to each participant or group when registering online. A fishing license is not needed to take part in the derby; however, participants must bring their own poles and bait.
Registration is available online HERE. There are two fishing sessions to choose from:
AM session - 7:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
PM session - 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
All are ages are welcome to fish in either session. You are also able to purchase tickets for both sessions if you would like to fish all day!
