Hello! My name is Lisa! 

There’s a LOT of family-friendly events, services, and activities in the West Valley!  I’m excited to be here to gather them all under “one roof” so you can find just the thing that you were looking for in the hyper-local MacaroniKID calendar.

As a mother of two, I understand how tough it can be to manage everything, and it’s certainly not enjoyable to have to bookmark a dozen different sites just to find fun family activities. That’s why I’ve made it my mission to consolidate all those options into an easy-to-navigate, events-for-all-ages calendar.

FACTS ABOUT ME:

• I am originally from a coastal town in California but now am so happy to call Arizona my home.  And yes, I’m a bit crazy, because I Love the Heat!
• My favorite beverage is tea.  Hot tea (Nutcracker Sweet by Celestial Seasonings) with honey when it’s cold out, iced black tea when it’s warm out.
• I’ve done a range of work over the years including working for the United Way, working for Ceasar Chavez (the civil rights activist, not the boxer), professor of International Relations, summer camp arts and crafts teacher for 15 years, and coaching gymnastics for 13 years.
• I homeschooled for 8 years with my kids (plus 2 other kids who were family friends.) 
• I have been married to my husband for 26 wonderful incredible exciting fabulous exasperating years. 
• I welcomed my artistic, smart daughter into the world in my late 20s.  She’s now working on a Masters degree in the UK.
• My son, a cross country runner, and voracious reader, was born 4 years later.  He’s due to graduate college this year from the U of Alabama.  Roll Tide!
• I really enjoy learning and expanding my knowledge, skills and understanding of our world. 
• Over the course of my life I have lived in the following places:  California, Washington D.C., Massachusetts, Florida, New Jersey, Vienna (Austria), Zacatecas (Mexico), Indiana, and, of course, Arizona.
